Travelling especially for a holiday should be stress-free. However, time off with kids can be a little too difficult. Ben Pure hands out some interesting and useful tips to make travel stress-free with kids.
Book in Advance
Nobody likes to wait especially children. For children waiting is boring and waste of time. Wherever, you are travelling, book tickets, cabs, and hotels in advance. Last minute bookings for destinations may be expensive and you may not be able to grab them which will increase your stress and disappoint a child.
Packing Bags
Before you travel, make a list of things that you want to take with you. Nappies, nappy bags, cleaning wipes, their favorite toy, crockery, and books are just some of the things that you will need. Check the weather forecast of the place you are travelling to and pack accordingly. Change of clothes while travelling is another useful thing as is a magic scribbler. Buy a toy camera to keep the children engaged. Benjamin Pure advises that while you click your own pictures, let children also ‘pretend click’ the pictures of the places and things they like. Also, do not forget to pack important medicines. A new place, different foods, getting out of routine, and being jet-lagged can make children sick. Carry medicines that are easy to swallow. Carrying plasters and thermometer is also a good idea. Also, a hand sanitizer can be very useful to keep germs at bay.
Remain on Guard
Plan small activities that you would be able to do with your toddler in case there is a delay in flights. For instance, handheld puzzles, small sticker, and coloring books are safe options that would not be too heavy and would also keep the children engaged. Ben Pure also suggests keeping small snacks like breadsticks, rice cakes, raisins, fruits, and malted loaf handy in case children get hungry at a place where there is no arrangement for food. Stick labels on children with their name and your mobile number in case they get lost. Happy travelling!
